i really love your art style wether its traditional or digital. the way you use colors and leave some parts much more abstract than others ist truly amazing :) sometimes i would wish for a little bit more individuality in the faces though

faster drying might be when particles are smaller so paper can abrorb it faster also if it contains chemicals that act like alcohol

I think poster color is great for animation studio because of the very matte result and it's certainly a good point for photography or scan

Did you use any layer blending modes such as in the beginning when you first put down the cool and warm colors? Did you use any blending modes for your highlights or shadows?

Non digital artist here and one of the reasons for not trying it is the layers and knowing the best way to work. Actually I'll add brushes to that list, as I only have the Photoshop defaults and when I watch other YTers, they have so many custom brushes, I of course won't have. I appreciate you talking about your 3 later approach ans also that you're using pretty default brushes. You have answered my 2 questions/issues at the same time. 🙂

Be aware if you try this app on your ipad..... until you buy it you cannot save what you created not can you export it. Pretty pointless trial software I think. (Worse still, it is subscription fee only, and, inexplicably, more expensive than the one off license fee for a mac or PC copy)

Digital painting is a good tool but I prefer something hand painted!

Another excellent video, fantastic talent. thank you. I have been trying out a few Digital Art programs (retired now so...) like ArtStudio Pro (plus Claudio's brush set) and Procreate (I purchased procreate more than 10 years ago. I fired up my brand new iPad connected up to my Apple account and re-downloaded it... how cool is that) Anyway, I looked up Clip Studio Paint (it looks seriously good in your video - thanks again) and sadly found its subscription only on iPad ... so I will not be using it... sorry, I just hate subscription software.

I really like the simple 3 layer painting process you talk about here. I am still very new at digital painting and what I struggle with most is removing the sketch lines without removing the whole layer. Also I need to be looser in my digital art. And this was very inspiring

I love that Clip Studio is so artist friendly. It’s jam packed with so many tools.

digital doesnt feel right like the texture and vibrations your brush makes as you feel it through your hand. its simply not the same process and emotive feeling especially when your brush decides to oops and lose a hair into your work.

wonderful painting!! Digital art is loads of fun. i wasted my clip studio free trial a few years ago and didnt do much with it due to lack of time XD can't say anything bad about the software though

Shame Clip studio has that disgusting subscription based plan on tablets... I will keep pirating on the pc.

Does the software allow you to switch two layers multiple times ? For instance, start with the drawing, paint over it, and then bring the drawing over the paint ?

Digital artists usually go way overboard with their layers. 50+ layers for every brush stroke they make and use layer modes (multiply, overlay, etc) on everything. It's nice to see something a bit more on the "traditional" side.

In a few years we eill have videos like this using ai, untill 2010 we had a massive problemn with digital art and now its the default. Idk, i think is nuts and sad at the same time.hope im wrong

I love clip studio and how you can customize the brushes. It's really fun to see how your process differs when using different mediums. It would be interesting to see you try out good old MS paint.

i started as a traditional painter and continure to use those methods in digital painting. been using Autodesk Sketchbook for about 7 years now

sketchboard pro,its a gamechanger for the ipad :)

as a tradtional artisit I love the gouache brush in CSP it feels so. natural and textured. it is really a great program if you're used to traditional brushes
